Deepwater projects can face technical and financial challenges to their viability. The structured, modular approach to the deepwater horizontal xmas tree (DHXT) ensures reliability, while tackling issues posed by a complex supply chain.
DHXT – designed for full life of field reliability across deepwater projects
The financial viability of deepwater projects, coupled with a tight market for drilling rigs means competitive lead times are a must for the oil and gas industry. The DHXT takes on the world’s most challenging subsea conditions, ensuring efficient development through a structured, modular approach. It can be installed in water depths up to 3,000m, at pressures up to 15,000psi and has three primary configurations:
DHXT-SP - a standard production tree delivering full deepwater capabilities in a compact, lightweight & flexible package.
DHXT-GP - a gas lift production tree system, additions include a gas lift choke, dual-bore flow-line connector and sensors.
VetcoGray M-Series MVXT and MHXT
Our MVXT (vertical) & MHXT (horizontal) trees have served the industry for nearly two decades, with over 500 installed worldwide. Including a full set of rental tools, they allow greater flexibility in planning developments & budgets.
GE’s M-Series – qualified to the most rigorous international standards
A traditional guideline vertical tree, the MVXT has been used extensively in all mature offshore basins around the globe. It is highly compatible with various types of drilling fleets and provides wide flexibility in field development planning. The MVXT can be installed directly onto the completed wellhead to enable early drilling/completion of the well.
The MHXT is our guideline horizontal tree, well-established in offshore developments globally, and compatible with 18¾ drilling systems. The tree design allows for installation of the tubing hangar directly into the tree master valve block. The VetcoGray MHXT comes in two modes: HT1, with a single crown plug in the tubing hangar & a separate internal tree cap; and HT2, with two crown plugs in the tubing hangar.
VetcoGray S-Series SVXT
With growing concern industry-wide over rising operational costs, GE’s Shallow Water Vertical Xmas Tree (SVXT) offers advanced, pre-engineered functionality, providing customers with significant installation, maintenance and cost benefits
SVXT - designed with an in-depth understanding of industry challenges
In response to rising costs, the industry is more focused than ever on controlling operating expenditure. Our shallow water vertical tree system has been designed to lower installation costs and provide unrivalled capabilities.
The SVXT’s smaller footprint enables deployment from a jack-up drilling rig - instead of semi-submersible - while its innovative barrier philosophy removes the need for a separate tree cap, while negating the need for diver or ROV-support during installation, leading to significant cost reduction.
A 20% weigh reduction over conventional designs does not impact performance, with the tree qualified to 6,500 psi and 0 - 250F temperature ranges. A fully-integrated SemStar5 ModPod provides greater control and reliability, while the pre-engineered, ‘modular’ approach enables competitive lead times.
